Şenay Özdemir is a Dutch-Turkish journalist, author, lecturer and women's rights activist. Özdemir, the first Turkish tv-host and tv-producer in Europe, founded the monthly woman's magazine SEN showcasing the personal success stories of Mediterranean women in Europe.
Şenay Özdemir received the ASN Bank Media Prize and SEN was elected “Best New Magazine of 2004”. Her work has been profiled in many Dutch and European magazines, and in the International Herald Tribune, the New York Times, Foreign Policy, Forbes.com and Austin American Statesman.
She works for The University of Texas at Austin as a visiting lecturer at the School for Journalism and the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies.

Frank Sharry
Founder and Executive Director of America’s Voice
Frank Sharry is Founder and Executive Director of America's Voice. With the support of allies in the immigration reform community, he created the new organization in early 2008 to focus on communications and media as part of a renewed effort to win comprehensive immigration reform. Prior to heading America's Voice, Frank served as Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum for 17 years. The Forum, based in Washington D.C., is one of the nation's premier immigration policy organizations, and has been at the center of every major legislative and policy debate related to immigration for the past quarter of a century.
Before joining the Forum, Frank was Executive Director of Centro Presente, a local organization working with Central American refugees in the greater Boston area. He initially became interested in immigrants and refugees while teaching in Singapore in the late 1970s. He was hired to assist with the rescue and relocation of boat refugees fleeing war-torn Vietnam and landing in Indonesia. Sharry is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of Princeton University.

Alexandra Moe directs the Washington, D.C. office of New America Media.
New America Media is the country's first and largest collaboration of ethnic news organizations, headquartered in California. Over 60 million adults connect to each other, to home countries and to America through 3,000+ ethnic media, the fastest growing sector of American journalism. Alex spearheads NAM’s ethnic media initiatives on the East Coast, growing local networks of ethnic media with journalism schools in New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, and Washington, D.C., and organizing summits on immigration, the environment, Census, and health issues. She spearheads a writing program at D.C.'s juvenile detention facility called, The Beat Within. Her essays and news reports have appeared in The Washington Post, South Florida Times, Caribbean Today, and other publications.
Hans Laroes

NOS Journaal bulletins can be seen on channels of the Netherlands Public Broadcasting, the Dutch public broadcaster. Its flagship 25-minute bulletin airs at 8:00pm every night on Nederland 1 - the most watched news programme in the Netherlands, with an audience of around 1.5 to two million viewers daily (around a fifth of the market share around that hour).
Hans Laroes is chief - editor of the NOS. He studied at the School of Journalism. He previously worked for The Voice, PZC and the Utrechts Nieuwsblad. Hans Laroes has been working at NOS since 1988, first as a parliamentary reporter, then as deputy chief editor, before becoming editor in chief.
