During the morning session of the conference, there were two workshops that dealt with this topic but in a similar way. In the first one, the participants spoke about the experiences they made in their countries and concluded that journalists have toolkits for diversity which could be used effectively if used properly but it seems this is not being done because of the way they were educated eg wanted to reseafrch and discuss issues that interest them only.
The participants discussed how to change this situation, by using the diversity toolkit. One idea was that it is necessary to have good trainers to teach how to make qualitative diverse reports. Journalists have to be trained to a diverse thinking, while they are still studying but it was also noted that this is hard to achieve.
The other workshop wanted to show how diversity is built within the public braodcasting and other medias.
In the afternoon session both workshops will come together to discuss how to create a stable link between Public Service Broadcasters and NGOs.
