2.       What are ethnic media and what can be their role in the Media4US2 project,

3.       Examples of digital platforms with news and articles with views and comments of migrant communities.

11:30     3 Parallel workshops on project development
1.       Promotion of the Media4US2 project and Metro insert + cooperation with other strategic partners
o   Presentation of the Radio 1812 Campaign, Rene Plaetevoet, Radio 1812, Belgium
o   Presentation of Kay Hsin-Lien Leventhal, NAM, San Francisco
o   Aims and objectives of the Media4US2 promotion campaigns
o   Vital national and international activities in the project
o   Target groups: mainstream and immigrant groups
o   Spokespersons of the campaigns
o   Strategic partners on national and international level
o   Important events where project can be promoted or which can be linked to Media4US2
o   Use of social media
o   Coordination of social media approach
 
 
 
2.       Project development (based on project ideas of delegates, initial partnerships will be formed and ideas will be discussed small project groups.)
o   Examples of possible projects: Summer schools; transnational media projects like PenPals project and VPRO MetropolisTV, strategic social media training for immigrant NGO’s, etc.
o   Available EU funds: Youth in Action, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, European Integration Funds, European Refugee Funds, Life Long Learning, and others.
 
3.       Development of international correspondents network (project proposals EU Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, deadline March 2012).
o   Mira Media made a first draft for a project proposal. In this workshop interested partners will work on further development of the project idea and will discuss the follow up steps until March. This proposal will also be the base for the follow up strategy after the end of the Media4US2 project.
